The Fog
He looked up and smiled
A coy smile
“So you are coming for me again?”
He called
There was no answer,
Just silence
That eerie silence
That deathly silence
He pulled out his coat
Huddled down next to a rock
But he couldn’t protect himself
Not against her touch
She moved quickly
Her arms outstretched
Encompassing him in her cloak
Smothering him in her bosum
He pulled his hat down
His coat up
But he couldn’t fight her
She was all powerful
Looking out he could see nothing
He felt lost in her sublime silent embrace
His body cold
His clothes wet
She can’t stay much longer
She must move on soon
What time is it?
He head swam with thoughts
So tired
So very tired
Snuggling down
Sleep soon took hold
Lifting her skirts
She rushed off down the hill
Leaving him there
Alone and silent
They came from the Village
But they were too late
Once again she had struck
Leaving death behind her.
