Breakfast Chatter
Opening the Fridge I said “Who used the last of the Milk?”
“Not Me” Said Andy, while buttering his toast.
I moved to the sink and started to stack plates for washing up, “Bloody Kids” I thought to myself “treat this place like a hotel”.
“Mum, there’s no Milk” said Henry as he looked in the fridge.
“I know did you use it?”
“Don’t worry I’ll have toast” Henry popped some bread in the toaster.
“Did you see that” said Andy
“Urmm, No I’m in the Kitchen”
“They are recalling VW’s, What’s the point?, They have already said they are safe”
“Have you got your lunch” I said to Henry who had disappeared. Pop!
“Your toast has popped” “Bloody Kids” I thought
“Have you fed Magic”
“Henry Have you fed the Dog” Said Andy repeating what I had said
“Yes” said Henry between mouthfulls of toast.
“She doesn’t want to go out” Said Henry as he tried to coax the dog out of the living room.
“It’s because of all the storms”
“I’ve only got ten minutes till my bus”
“Thats enough, just take her for a short one” I said as I got up and walked to the door, the dog following me happily.
“What appointments have we got today?” Said Andy from the living room as I walked into the kitchen.
“I’m at Creative Writing 10 while 12, Mum at Ponte Hospital 1.30, School run at 3, Cadets for you and Yoga for me and Henry” I Said without needing to check the diary.
“What times Hospital?”
“1.30”
“Bye Mum, See you later, Love you”
“Bye Henry” too late he was gone and running down the road
“What times Hospital again?”
“1.30 at Pontefract”
