Here Comes the Storm

Here comes the Storm

Warnings were given
Not always heeded
Flood Waters Coming
Haven’t you heard
Harder and Faster
Can you not hear
It falls every from above
It’s hard to behold
Waters rising faster
Than ever before
Dark murky floods
Sneak in by surprise
Smells of the sewers
Gushing and flowing
Streams through the houses
Using windows and doors
What started as puddles
Now formed into lakes
Gushing and rushing
It seems never to stop
Relentless downpouring
Thunderous roaring
Water our slave
Now it fights back
Buildings destroyed
Lives are in tatters
Floods are relentless
Everyone suffers
Waters have gone
Sludge all that's left
Cleaning begins
Skips filling fast
